MOC Physician Requirements

A message for the physician leaders at each participating site:

The OPQC neonatal project has received approval from the American Board of Pediatrics to allow participation in this project to qualify for Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credit.

The requirements for your team to receive credits are attached and are posted on the website.

Of note, all of the neonatalogists in your unit who work with you to prevent catheter-associated bloodstream infections are eligible to receive MOC credit.  This is a wonderful opportunity to ensure that all of your colleagues are aware of and engaged in these improvement efforts. The requirements are similar but may vary slightly in implementation for physician leaders and colleagues at participating sites.  Each physician lead must be able to attest to his/her colleague's participation and completion of the requirements.

Were letting you know about this now so that you and your colleagues will be able to receive credit (when this initial phase of data collection ends in December 2009). We will discuss this briefly on Tuesday's webinar and will be glad to answer any inquiries. Please let us know if you have questions.  These requirements are new for physicians in 2010 and we realize they can be confusing.
